Serco Maritime Services have almost 60 years of experience delivering defence services in the UK and continually service 70+ military contracts with the Ministry of Defence. We’ve been working with Serco for over 6 years supporting their lifting asset maintenance requirements, assisting them to uphold their high level of safety standards across their fleet across the UK.  

Our team of highly experienced and qualified inspection technicians and engineers carry out LOLER Inspections and load testing for all lifting assets on over 100 Defence Tugs across the UK-wide Serco Defence Contract and Northlink Ferries. Our service has spanned from Portsmouth, Devonport, Greenock, Kyle of Lochalsh all the way to Aberdeen.

When we took over the contract, we found that the previous contractor had been visiting the vessels on multiple occasions. Instead, we aligned all equipment to a standard 6 monthly visit, reducing the cost of the service. Our intervention has also realised a reduction in spend on new equipment of over 50%.

We are delighted that since the initial contract award in 2016 we have been awarded two contract extensions, with the most recent one coming in 2020.
