Crane Inspection for Anglo Eastern

We were recently contacted by one of our longstanding customers, a leading global provider of ship management services to carry out crane inspection services onboard one of their vessels, which was located in Cork, Ireland.

Our lifting equipment inspectors travelled over to Cork from Aberdeen to carry out five yearly crane inspections and testing onboard the vessel as per ABS class requirements, whilst it was in anchorage. Five cranes were thoroughly examined, function and load tested as per class overload requirements. This was completed using a combination of waterbags and calibrated loadcells to ensure accurate loading.

Due to limited availability of load testing equipment at the client’s location and the urgency of the client’s requirements, our technicians rapidly mobilised the required testing equipment on a 12-hour journey over to Cork by road and ferry. Our technicians carried out the testing scope successfully, meeting the client’s deadline enabling them to depart port on schedule.

On completion of the testing and thorough examinations, inspection certification was uploaded to the online inspection database for the ships master to confirm re-classification by ABS for another 5 years.
