Employees at IMES have stepped up to raise money for a North of Scotland children’s charity.
Team members from across the company’s UK operations took part in the ARCHIE Foundation’s Virtual Challenge. The event saw 25 people, the majority from the company’s Aberdeen headquarters, walk, run, cycle, swim and row, raising £2,128 for the charity.
The Virtual Challenge required teams of up to five people to record their activity over the course of a month. The physical exercises, monitored via a pedometer, could be completed in individuals’ own time with the aim to complete as many miles as possible around virtual Scottish film locations.
IMES is a leading marine and subsea company, providing load life cycle management solutions to the oil and gas, defence and industrial markets.
Jason Smith, chief operating officer at IMES, said: “It proved to be an extremely worthwhile challenge in terms of enhancing teamwork and wellbeing, as well as a great opportunity to raise some funds for a terrific cause.”
Amie Shewan, HR manager at IMES, said: “The whole team really embraced the challenge; particularly as it was something that people could do both while they were at work or home.
“It was great to see so many employees get involved and support the ARCHIE Foundation. We are already turning our attention to the next team fundraising event.”

The teams from IMES have been outstanding and the money raised will help us to make a real difference for sick children in the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital. We would like to thank everybody concerned for this wonderful effort.”
The ARCHIE Foundation aims to improve the lives of sick children in the North of Scotland and the Islands who need medical care in the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital, in children’s wards in Inverness and Elgin or in their own community.
